A Paytable Built by Hand Before the Ball Drops

The 2019 original still carries the highest published return in its own series: 98.91%, where both sequels dropped lower. That figure is the whole reading, because Plinko offers nothing else to lean on. There is no reel, no payline, no volatility rating; the player builds the paytable by choosing a risk level and a row count between 8 and 16, and each choice stretches or flattens the same bucket row. On High risk at 16 rows the edge bucket pays x1000 while the centre pays x0.2, an 80% loss dressed in the same green pill as a return. The rules state the RTP as a range, 98.91 to 99.16, which shifts with the setup chosen. Where a crash round asks when to leave, this one asks the question earlier: the decision is the table itself, made before the ball moves, and everything after the press is watching.

How the game plays out

Plinko drops one ball through 8 to 16 peg rows into rows-plus-one buckets, and each bucket multiplier multiplies the total bet. Three risk settings reshape that same multiplier row, while Auto Bet Mode only changes how rounds are started, never the table itself.

Low Risk
The gentlest of the three risk tables at any row count from 8 to 16. Its edge multiplier runs from x5.6 at 8 rows to x16 at 16 rows, and no center bucket ever falls below x0.5, so even the worst landing returns at least half the stake.
Normal Risk
The middle table, available across the same 8 to 16 rows. Its edge multiplier climbs from x13 at 8 rows to x110 at 16 rows, while the center bucket sinks as low as x0.2 at 14 rows, so a central landing at high row counts pays back only a fifth of the bet.
High Risk
The most extreme table, again over 8 to 16 rows. Its edge multiplier grows from x29 at 8 rows to x1000 at 16 rows, the highest value printed in the game, while the center buckets shrink to x0.2 from 12 rows upward; more rows widen the gap between edge and center.
Auto Bet Mode
Switching Bet Mode to Auto reveals a Number of bets field, default 10, set with minus and plus steppers. Pressing Play then runs that many rounds, turning Play into a Stop button with the remaining count; the series ends at the set count, on Stop, or when the balance runs short, with risk and rows locked during each round.

How to play

Plinko by BGaming is a peg-drop game of chance, not a reel slot. The objective: drop the ball down the pyramid of pegs and have it land in a bucket whose multiplier pays well. Each round follows the same loop: set risk, rows and bet, press PLAY, watch the ball fall, collect the result.

  1. Set risk, rows and bet

The game loads on Low risk with 8 peg rows and a 1.00 FUN bet. Choose a Risk Level (Low, Normal, High), set the Lines selector between 8 and 16 peg rows, and adjust the stake with the Min, -, + and Max buttons up to 100.00 FUN.

  2. Drop the ball with PLAY

Press the PLAY button to start the round. The stake is deducted from the balance at once and the ball bounces down the board. Risk Level and the Lines selector lock while the ball is in flight; only Bet Mode stays changeable.

  3. Read the result

The ball settles in a bucket and the payout equals the bet times that bucket's multiplier, shown on the Win banner. Buckets under 1x return less than the stake, so check the signed Profit column in the history table. Press PLAY again to repeat.

Playing smart: bankroll and volatility

Plinko leaves the player three genuine levers: the risk-and-rows combination that reshapes the payout table before each drop, the client seed that feeds the next round's provably-fair draw, and the Auto Bet count that governs how long a session runs unattended. Each changes a different part of the game, and none changes the odds of any single ball.

Pick the risk and row count together

Risk Level and peg rows (8 to 16) are chosen freely before each drop and jointly set the multiplier table. High risk at 16 rows prints x1000 on the edges but x0.2 in the center, so most landings return a fifth of the stake; Low risk never drops below x0.5. The stated RTP spans 98.91% to 99.16% across these combinations, and no per-table breakdown is published, so which pairing sits at which end is unknown.

Enter a client seed before the next round

The Provability panel accepts a client seed from 0 to 16 that applies to the next game only, alongside a hash of result plus secret committed before the drop. This lets the player contribute input to and later verify the draw, but the rules booklet never documents the feature, and no evidence shows any seed value shifts the ball toward particular buckets.

Set the Auto Bet count with an exit in mind

Switching Bet Mode to Auto opens a Number of bets field, default 10, and the series runs until that count, a press of Stop, or an insufficient balance. Risk and rows stay locked for every round in the series, so the count fixes how many identical bets repeat unattended. Whether the field has a maximum was not tested.

What we think

Key advantagesRTP of 98.91% to 99.16% across all settings beats almost any comparable instant game
Key advantagesEvery bucket multiplier is printed before the drop, so the paytable is fully known upfront
Key advantagesRisk level and row count let the player tune the spread from x0.2 floors to the x1000 edge
Downsides to considerCenter buckets on High risk pay x0.2, yet the banner still calls every landing a Win

Plinko strips the round to one decision: pick the spread, drop, take what the bucket says. The return is excellent and the odds are printed, not hidden, but the x1000 edge sits at roughly 0.003% per drop, and the sub-1x center buckets quietly take back most of the stake. Suits a player who reads tables, not one who chases the headline figure.
